Dr. Mohamed Ali Bishr, former Local Development Minister and leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood, condemned the killing of Egyptian soldiers in a car-bomb incident in Sinai Wednesday.
In a statement, Dr. Bishr said: "This policy of violence, whether bombings or assassinations, is completely rejected, prohibited in Islam, criminalized by law. I hope it stops immediately.
"I demand an urgent investigation to quickly find and arrest the perpetrators, and bring them to a prompt fair trial."
Meanwhile, Dr. Amr Darrag, member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP)’s Executive Office and leader of the coalition of parties that supports President Mohamed Morsi and democracy, also condemned the killing of the soldiers in the Sinai Wednesday.
In a post on his Twitter account, Dr. Darrag said: "The crime and the reactions to it only serve the interests of the homeland’s enemies."
In a statement, he added that incidents of killings, bombings and assassinations only destabilize the country, pointing that the expression of opinion in a peaceful manner is the natural course of the opposition, which is the policy adopted by the vast majority of anti-coup pro-legitimacy parties, groups and movements.
