Speaking to Ikhwanweb, co-founder for the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Dr. Saad Ketatni expressed its rejection of an amnesty for the ousted President Hosni Mubarak.

Ketatni stressed that any pardon given to Mubarak or his henchmen would only ignite another revolution, adding it was a far cry from a fair trial promised earlier by the authorities. He added no one is authorised to pardon those who committed crimes or political offences against the Egyptian people, particularly in absence of an electec representative government. \r\n

Ketatni wondered how an amnesty could be given to those whose hands are stained with the blood of the people, wasting of public funds and corrupt political life noting that all responsible should be held accountable for their crimes

unconfirmed Internet and media reports have suggested that the Egyptian authorities are contemplating a pardon for former president Hosni Mubarak if he apoligizes to the people and gave up his wealth. The Supreme Military Council has firmly denied in a statement issued Wednesday any intention of pardoning the former president, as it doesn't interefer in the current investigations or judiciary process.
