Around 100 Moroccans demonstrated in front of their country's parliament in Rabat on Friday to protest the presence of Israeli Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin.
The demonstrators peacefully rallied to object to the presence of Rivlin in Rabat to attend a regional conference.
Rivlin is one of seven Israeli lawmakers attending the fifth Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, and he was present at the opening ceremony in the Moroccan parliament along with delegations from 25 countries.
Protesters hoisted placards with angry slogans such as, "Zionist terrorists should be in jail and not in Moroccan parliament", and "We condemn the presence of Zionists in Moroccan parliament".
Morocco's Islamic opposition Justice and Development Party "officially" boycotted the parliamentary event, Reda Bin Khaldoun, a Moroccan MP said.
