The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information said today that pursuing callers of change and democratic reform  did not include arbitrary detention , but also reached their sites and blogs as well. The blog of Amr Osama , amrosama.eb2a.com, was blocked and closed by the Emirati free hosting service provider . They alleged that the blocking was the post about Omar Soliman as a potential president of Egypt and the campaign launched for that and how it relates to succession.

Blog visitors were surprised to find a blocking message displaying on the link

explaining that blocking the blog was due to a complaint  submitted from Gamal Mubarak , the president’s son, secretary of policies committee in NDP and a possible presidential candidate. The hosting company redirected the blog web address to Google site .

The Arabic Network said,” Though the blocking message displayed has the hosting company name , https://www.eb2a.com , yet the Network assumes the company is worried of getting into trouble because of hosting a blog that speaks for dissidents and callers for democratic change”.

The Arabic Network said, “If the reason for blocking Amr Osama’s blog was a complaint from Gamal Mubarak , then this would be a heavy blow to freedom of expression and the right to information circulation in Egypt. It is an indication of an unfair rivalry between Gamal Mubarak  and AlBaradie having the supporters of the latter pursued and arbitrarily arrested and on the other hand  the former is enjoying all sorts of protection and advocacy in state owned papers that dedicate many pages for promoting the president’s son.
