- Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad has called for immediate Arab and international moves to check the Israeli occupation authority's policy of racial cleansing against the Palestinians in the West Bank and expelling them from their own homeland.
The official Syrian news agency (SANA) said that the president discussed with visiting Arab League secretary general Amr Mousa on Monday night means of activating the last Arab summit resolutions.
The discussions also tackled means of reactivating the joint Arab endeavor, developing the League work and its role on the Arab and international platforms, the agency said.
Mousa, for his part, said that the current developments in the Palestinian land and the IOA issuance of measures that allow mass expulsion of Palestinians from the West Bank topped the talks.
He told reporters after the meeting that Israel was acting as if it was above the law, which would make establishment of a real peace very difficult.
The Syrian brotherhood group, for its part, warned of the consequences of the IAO decision, describing it as "dangerous".
It added in a statement on Tuesday that the Palestinians should end their division and unite under the banner of resistance in face of the IOA decision.
It asked the Arab countries to support Palestinian resistance and to stop tabling initiatives.
