OCCUPIED JERUSALEM -- The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has moved detainee Obada Bilal, who is blind, from the Negev prison to Petah Tikva detention center where his wife has been under interrogation for the past four days.

The IOA had arrested Nilli Al-Safadi, the wife of Bilal, at a roadblock at the entrance to Ramallah city on Thursday and sent her to Petah Tikva for questioning.

The Ahrar center for prisoners' studies and human rights has denounced the IOA oppressive policy against prisoners and their families, adding that most of the Safadi and Bilal families are held in IOA jails.

The center noted that the IOA detained Fuad the elder brother of Nilli and her other brother Ma'mun, who was released form IOA jails only five months ago.

Fuad Al-Khafsh, the director of the center, charged the IOA with attempting to break the morale of Palestinian prisoners, and urged lawyers to visit Nilli and her blind husband, who was captured by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on 16/4/2002 during the IOF military campaign on the West Bank codenamed "Defensive Shield".

Bilal, who was studying journalism at Najah University, was sentenced to 11 years in jail for alleged affiliation with the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and extending help to the armed wing.
