While the crisis over cartoons of Prophet Muhammad PBUH escalates, some Muslim graves in Denmark were vandalized on Sunday.

’Twenty five of Muslim graves were vandalized at the hands of unknown persons who destroyed their gravestones,’ stated Anderson Hansen, the vice-president of police station of Esbjerg town, western Denmark, to the Danish radio on Sunday.

’Attacks targeted the square of Muslim graves while no assaults were committed against any other sections,’ Hansen asserted.

In Denmark, there is no separate place for Muslim graves but they have specific sections in the public grave zone where non-Muslims have their own as well.

On Sunday, Sheikh Ahmed Akary the spokesman of ’the European Committee to Support Prophet Muhammad’ told IOL that this is not the first time of such incidents which ’ reflect that malice and folly push some people to attack such respectable places.’
