The series of torture in police stations seems endless. Policemen, the supposed protectors of citizens, demonstrate examples of brutality. The Association of Human Rights and Legal Assistance uncovered a new scandal of torture in police stations.

Ibrahem Salah el-Dean, less than 20 years old, was forcefully driven to Imbaba City police station. After being unclothed, he was repeadedly beaten and insulted in the room of the police officer.

The reason behind this inhuman treatment is complimentary and intimidating. Unjustifiably detained, one of El-Dean’s relatives has filed a complaint against the chief of the police station. To show support for their colleague, police officers arrested the man’s family, trumped up charges, tortured them to force them to withdraw the complaint.

The association’s lawyers reported these violations to both the Attorney General and the Prosecutor of Imbaba City. The Public Prosecution dated an investigation no. 284 to be conducted on Thursday, February 16th.  The association expressed its solidarity with El-Dean and all victims of torture in an attempt to have free-torture Egypt that both respects and preserves the dignity of its citizens.
