Habib: Occupation is The Real Source of Insecurity in Iraq

In his response to the news of Al-Zarqawi death, Dr. Mohamed Habib the first deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood stated to Ikhwanweb that “The news coming out of Iraq are generally vague and its unclear if Al-Zarqawi’s death will achieve the stability and security for Iraqi since we are not even sure if he was really the mastermind of bombings in Iraq”

Dr. Habib stated that the occupation itself is a major factor in the state of chaos in Iraq “There is even more violence committed at the hands of occupation forces and I do not see any real security that can be achieved in Iraq without the withdrawal of all foreign troops out of Iraq”

The Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki announced today in a joint press conference with U.S. military commander in Iraq Gen. George Casey that Al Qaeda leader in Iraq Abu Mosaab Alzarqawi has been killed in an airstrike north of Baghdad on Wednesday. The identity of Al-Zarqawi has been confirmed through fingerprints according press reports. The airstrike was a result of intelligence obtained from one of his close aids who have been nabbed by US forces, according to American sources.

Al-Zarqawi appeared last time in April in a video message where he was presumed to be inside Iraq, promising the Americans with defeat in the war.
