Demonstrations continue in protest against the Israeli aggression and in solidarity with the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine, the recent of which took place at Tahrir Square, downtown Cairo Wednesday July26, 2006, where about three thousand Egyptians participated. Nearly all political and cultural trends, foremost among which were Muslim Brotherhood, Kefaya, a-Ghad Party, Labor Party and Nasserites, participated in the demonstrations while a large number of security forces sealed off the area to contain demonstrators. This led to scuffles between the police and demonstrators leaving eleven injured including a police officer.

Artists and celebrities also participated in the demonstrations and criticized the uncivilized manner security personnels used break up peaceful demonstrations. Khaled el Sawi, famous acto, stated to Ikhwanweb that the security forces’ tough measures against demonstrators contradict the government’s claims of tolerating demonstrations.

The demonstrators chanted anti Israeli slogans like “Our beloved Nasrullah, hit Tel Aviv" “Down with the collaborators". They also demanded the closure of the American and Israeli embassies in Cairo and recalling the Egyptian ambassador to Tel Aviv as well as severing all relations with the “Zionist entity”. The demonstrators also demanded the Arab governments to stop distorting the image of resistance and, instead, support it with money and arms, as well as sending immediate aid to the Lebanese people.

One of the groups participating in the demonstrations, by the name of Ajeej, equated Israel to a dog unleashed by his owner, Bush, to complete what the US started in Iraq several years ago. This group called for unconditional cease-fire as well as trying the American and Israeli generals before the International Criminal Court as war criminals for their responsiblility for all the killings and devastations in the region. The group also claimed reparations to the Lebanese people, as well as enjoining the US and Israel to pay for the reconstruction of war ravaged Lebanon.

Pro Islamists Labor party accused Mubarak’ regime of "betraying the Arab nation" and of being thorn in the back of the Nation  ’for the facilities it provides for the enemy’s army and its normalization with the Zionists”. The Labor Party heralded that the resistance inflicts losses within the enemy’s army and the signs of victory have come to appear.

Another group, by the name of Egyptian Independent Gathering condemned the Arab rulers’ pathetic silence and the international collaboration with the enemy. The group said that in spite of these Arab human disasters, Cairo hosts a conference with seven Zionist researchers participating
