MB Slams Bush for Equating Islam to Fascism

US president Bush’s statement on pledging to fight what he depicted as Fascist Islamists raised a lot of discontent among the Islamist circles which reminded all of his statement in the run up of his occupation of Iraq when he described his war on Iraq as a crusade one. Muslim Brotherhood Secretary General Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat exclusively said to Ikhwanweb that he was shocked by this statement as it is the first time to see President Bush slide into depicting Isalmists as Fascist ones. Although Dr. Ezzat hailed the Western and American civilization for the progress it has made in many aspects of life, he hastened to say that this civilization was a success only because it was based on a host of principles and human values including human rights and respect of humanity. “ Ezzat saw this statement of Bush as a bad omen to the US civilization “ This statement is manifest evidence that the US administration is in for eliminating what is left of the American civilization” he said .
In reply to Bush’s statement ,Dr. Ezzat countered by calling on the world to see crimes that  the US administration commits in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as its current position toward the killings and devastations perpetrated by the US- backed Israeli forces, regarding the US administration as a chief accomplice which aided and abetted in these  massacres and devastations. He said that Bush’s statement also shows how racist the US administration is toward Arabs and Muslims. “I call on the media either Islamist or Western ones to be straightforward in dealing with any issues without being biased with one party at the expense of the other.
