The IOF troops arrested three Palestinian young women in a pre-dawn incursion Sunday into the Jalazon refugee camp north of Ramallah city alleging they were Islamic Jihad activists, local sources reported.

They said that tens of IOF infantry soldiers backed by five army jeeps stormed the camp at 0200 am Sunday and broke into several houses before taking away the three young women.

The locals said that two of them Hiba Amori, 22, and Palestine Sabah, 22, were arrested before while the third Zakia Ghawanma, 35, is the sister of Wadha who was arrested almost two months ago.

They pointed out that the IOF troops thoroughly searched their homes before taking them away. The families of the three young ladies appealed to all concerned parties to know the whereabouts of their daughters and to help them seek their release.

The IOF command declared that seven Palestinians including the three young women were rounded up on charges of affiliation with the Islamic Jihad Movement.

The IOF troops arrested nine Palestinian young women since the start of the current month of August while 104 are still held in Israeli occupation jails.

In other areas in the West Bank, the IOF soldiers tightened repressive measures in and around Tobas town after a Palestinian fighter gunned down an IOF soldier near the city on Saturday.

In Al-Khalil, IOF units stormed the Islamic charitable society’s headquarters and its affiliated schools in Beit Ola town to the west of Al-Khalil city.

Locals said that the "barbaric soldiers wreaked havoc in the premises after blasting their way into the society and confiscated a number of files and records in addition to the girls’ school’s computer.

Meanwhile, the former Israeli foreign minister and internal security minister, Shlomo Ben Amy, asserted the failure of all military solutions in solving Israel’s problems with the Palestinians, the Lebanese and the Syrians.

He told Hebrew paper ’Yedioth Ahronoth’ in an interview on Saturday that negotiations should be the government’s option rather than the military option.

In another development, father of the captured IOF soldier in the Gaza Strip Gilad Shalit, who was captured on 25/6/2006, said that his government was ready to negotiate his son’s release.
