Israeli higher court allows realignment of wall path to annex 5,000 Palestinian dunums

The Israeli higher court on Monday approved a new path for the separation wall being illegally constructed on Palestinian lands in the West Bank to annex about 5,000 more dunums.

The court turned down five appeals tabled by Arab local councils against the new 26 kilometers path to the southwest of occupied Jerusalem, and was content with pledges that IOF troops would open gates allowing Palestinian farmers to cross into and cater for their lands.

The international court of justice in The Hague has deemed that wall illegal and should be brought down, but the Tel Aviv government enjoying unlimited USA backing refused to heed the ruling.

Meanwhile, the Israeli interior ministry noted that 14,000 new settlers had colonized Palestinian lands in the West Bank over the past year bringing the total number of settlers in those lands to 260,645.

Two thirds of the increase was due to new births while the remaining third was due to settlers moving in to those lands, the ministry’s report said.
