Muslim Brotherhood Condemns Burning of Detainees with Chemicals in Junta Jails

The heinous crime committed by the coup gang, burning the innocent abductees (Aqrab Prison detainees) with chemicals, is clearly a crime against humanity. According to Dr Ahmed Aref and Dr Essam Al-Erian, coup authorities are waging a ruthless war against political prisoners and innocent detainees, starving them, and depriving them of the most essential requirements of life, in a systematic extrajudicial killing of Egypt’s finest men.

The Muslim Brotherhood considers this an official statement to the International Criminal Court and the United Nations, as well as international human rights organizations, fair-minded people and all human rights advocates in the world, urging everyone to do their duty to investigate, prosecute and bring to justice the perpetrators of these heinous crimes. We urge all to visit Egyptian prisons and expose the horrific crimes committed there, and to do their part in effecting the release of these innocent detainees.

The whole world bears witness: the Muslim Brotherhood holds the coup gang fully responsible for the safety of the unjustly incarcerated men, languishing behind bars. The group appeals to all political parties and groups as well as the masses of the Egyptian people to close ranks and unite as one, to remove this blood-thirsty gang, to save Egypt and safeguard the future of its children.

The group reaffirms its steadfastness in all its fair stances. It will never compromise rights of the martyrs or the wounded. It will not abandon demands for the release of the detainees and the recovery of all their rights. It will not acknowledge or in any way recognize this treacherous military coup in Egypt. We are confident of victory, support and retribution from God against these traitorous criminals.
