As the junta's relentless campaign of yet more repression and persecution targeting leaders and members of the Muslim Brotherhood, the group today received the news of the arrest of Dr Mohamed Kamal, a member of its Guidance Bureau, by the coup junta's security militias that have made the homeland a hotbed of crimes, including extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, forced disappearance, torture and total disregard for sovereignty or honor.

The group holds the coup junta's security apparatuses fully responsible for the safety of Dr Kamal and his companions, and stresses that such heavy blows against the group and its leaders will only make us more determined to complete our non-violent struggle to recover the hijacked homeland, whatever the sacrifices we have to make.

Dr Talaat Fahmi
