The Muslim Brotherhood condemns the vicious attack early on Sunday in which a number of police personnel  were killed. The group has always stressed the sanctity of blood, and condemned violence – whatever the motives, as part of its commitment to the faith, moral principles, genuine patriotism and clear and peaceful approach.

The Brotherhood demands a prompt and transparent investigation and honest disclosure of the dimensions of this incident, and the obvious negligence in security and safety measures, in order to avoid such loss of life in vain, and also to avoid such horrific incidents in the future. The group calls for everyone to wait for this comprehensive investigation before making groundless accusations.

The Brotherhood stresses that, since the traitorous military coup, security apparatuses bear full responsibility for the horrid failure in preserving the lives of Egyptians. The group also stresses that Egypt's crises will not be solved until the illegitimate coup is ultimately defeated, the army returns to its barracks, and the will of the people is fully respected.
