President Morsi Media Adviser: We Thank Qatar, Aljazeera Mubasher-Egypt TV Channel

Ahmed Abdel-Aziz, media advisor to Egypt’s legitimate President Mohamed Morsi (currently held captive in junta jails) expressed gratitude and appreciation for the State of Qatar and Aljazeera Mubasher-Egypt (pro-Revolution) satellite TV channel.

"We thank Qatar, the leadership, the people and the media… Qatar is small in geographical terms, yet great in prestige and influence. It has interests that its leadership should protect and look after. This is an essential part of loyalty to the homeland, and the honesty that should characterize any leadership."

Abdel-Aziz said: "I was not surprised at all at the news of shuttering (the pro-Revolution) Aljazeera Mubasher-Egypt satellite TV channel. This is politics and the way it works: the ‘art of the possible’. With such tremendous pressure from Gulf states on tiny geographically ‘surrounded’ Qatar, it was not possible for the channel to continue.

"It would not be right to condemn Qatar for something it was forced to do, or blame it for a stance it ‘failed’ to defend."

Abdel-Aziz further said: "We will not forget Qatar’s noble stances towards Egypt’s Revolution over four years. So, I extend my thanks and appreciation to the country’s former and current leaderships for those stances.

"The neutralization of Qatar may have a negative effect for while, but it will make us more determined to utilize revolutionary inputs and energies that perhaps we never knew anything about.

"Our Revolution will go on. The Qatar leadership will be the first we will invite to celebrate with us the fall of the illegitimate coup regime and the success of the Revolution."
