Dr. Gamal Abdel-Sattar, University of Al-Azhar Professor and leader of the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance, criticized a statement issued by the coup's Ministry of Awqaf (Endowment), which attempted to draw similarities between Iraq's ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood.

In an interview on the TV program Egypt Tonight, Dr. Abdel-Sattar said that Egypt's ISIS is in fact the military junta who led an illegitimate military coup, a war on the homeland and the people, and a conspiracy of collaboration with the Zionist enemy.

He further said the military junta are the ones who went mad with power, pointing that the military had their grip on power for 60 years, and that they turned against the Egyptian Revolution after realizing they were losing that power.
