Security personnel and staff at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Al-Azhar University (Beni Suef Branch), violently attacked a march by female students Wednesday in which peaceful protesters demanded the overthrow of the military coup and denounced the security attack earlier on nonviolent demonstrations by fellow students of Al-Azhar University in Cairo.

The girls were ambushed by security personnel and college staff, who attacked the students in front of the office of the dean of the faculty, beating the young-women and pulling away the veils of some of them.
