In a press statement, Dr. Mohamed Saad Katatni, Freedom and Justice Party Chairman, rejected as false reports published by Iranian media and circulated on some other media outlets about his attendance of the eighth session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries, claiming that Katatni met with Iran's Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani in Sudan.

"Egypt is proud of the Iranian people and has strong ties with them. But Arab Spring revolutions are very different from the Iranian revolution.

"The Egyptian people made one of the best revolutions witnessed by the whole world, and praised by everyone for its civilized and peaceful nature. In any event, I definitely did not make any statements about the Iranian revolution to any Iranian news agency
