Egyptian Shura Council Calls on World Powers to Do Duty Towards Syrian People

The Egyptian Shura Council, parliament’s second chamber, announced that it was utterly shocked and dismayed witnessing the inhuman, barbaric massacre committed in Houla – Syria, in which more than 100 people, including dozens of children, were slaughtered in cold blood.

In an official statement by Reda Fahmi, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) leader and chairman of the Arab and Foreign Affairs and National Security Committee, affirmed that the Shura Council condemned the massacre, which no doubt is one of the worst crimes against humanity, pointing out that innocent Syrian lives are a red line.

Further, Fahmi held the Syrian regime fully responsible for these crimes and massacres through either direct involvement or criminal conniving.

The head of the Arab and Foreign Affairs and National Security Committee assured that, ultimately, the will of the people will triumph and will not be discouraged or intimidated by the massacres and brutal repression; but will fulfill the aspirations of the people.

Fahmi called on the Arab League to take all necessary action to immediately stop the massacres perpetrated against the Syrian people, calling all regional powers and international organizations to shoulder their responsibilities.
