MB Lawyers Concerned Over Court’s Decision to Dismiss Key Prosecutor’s Witnesses in Mubarak’s Case
Head of the Revolution victims’ defense team and Muslim Brotherhood (MB) lawyer Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsoud, stated that the decision made in Mubarak and his cronies’ case was an unexpected surprise. He stressed that demands made earlier by the lawyers to summon Sammy Annan to hear his testimonies and the testimonies of the victims and their families were ignored.

He stressed: "Other victims who were not previously represented were also denied the right to present their case. Such measures will negatively affect the trial". He called on the judiciary not to be effected by the negative proceedings and to abide by the rule of law.

Furthermore, MB lawyer Ali Kamal added that the trial proceedings are a clear indication that "there is a conspiracy with intentions to scrappily complete the trials before January 25 because of the current political situation. The victims defense team demands justice be served. This will only be possible if a committed judiciary is appointed to try the case integrally".

"We reject any attempts to speedily end the hearings; it is unacceptable to wrap up a case illegitimately without listening to all the testimonies," Kamal added.
