Vice Chairman for the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP)  Dr. Essam al Erian, stated that the party rejects all oppressive illegal actions against NGOs that prevent them from doing their job.

Speaking to Ikhwanweb he stressed: “Allegations against NGOs must be clear and specific and investigations must be done in accordance with the rule of law"

"The FJP’s platform completely supports civil society organizations and their activities, and fully rejects the old regime's illegal oppressive practices against them”.

He added: “I hope that any funding of these organizations solely comes from the Egyptian people, any outside help might imply the implementing of foreign agendas”.

Al-Erian’s statements come in response to the recent raids on 17 NGO’s on the backdrop of the “Foreign Imbursement Case”.
