MB Assigns Its Young Members to Protect Churches During New Year’s Mass

Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, media spokesman and Executive Bureau member for the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), stated that the group has appointed youth from the MB nationwide to stand guard and protect the churches during the New Year’s Mass. “We have allotted groups to safeguard the churches in all of Egypt’s governorates in order that our brethren Copts attend Mass free from worry and protected”, he said.

In a statement to Ikhwanweb he pointed out: “The MB youth are experienced in organizing popular watches similar to the neighbourhood watches formed during the revolution and after Mubarak was toppled. They also participated in securing the polling stations during the March referendum and the first and second phases of the parliamentary elections”.

A high profile delegation representing the MB headed by the group’s Deputy Chairman, Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat, will visit heads of Churches to convey wishes for the New Year and Christmas.

MB Chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie had called on SCAF to secure churches during the festive celebration with offers by the group to participate in watching over the churches.
