Ghozlan and Beltagy Criticize lawsuit Against Socialist Revolutionaries
Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, media spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) criticized the position taken by Jamal Tajuddin, Secretary General of the Freedoms Committee of the Egyptian Bar Association, who lodged a legal complaint with the Egyptian Public Prosecutor, Counsellor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud, Saturday afternoon, against three members of the Movement of Socialist Revolutionaries for inciting subversion of state power, derailment of the January 25 Revolution, and the burning of state institutions.

In a statement to IkhwanWeb, he said: “This is his personal stance, his own initiative. He did not consult the MB or reflect its position."

Dr. Mohammed Beltagy, member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Executive Office, said: "Thought is confronted with thought, not complaints to the prosecutor, or through inquisitions. Differences between partners of the political struggle must not turn to enmity and rivalry.

He added: "I disagree with the substance and form of suggestions to dismantle institutions adopted by ‘the other’ and I believe that the type of cleansing, which is still a symbol of the revolution, is right. I disagree a lot with Sameh Naguib and Kamal Khalil’s ideas, but I appreciate their patriotic struggle for many years, in which we fought as partners.”

He continued: "We need dialogue and discussion that benefit the nation, not accusations and battles that tear the country apart."

Jamal Tajuddin’s formal complaint had accused Yasser Abed Qawi, Sameh Naguib and Hisham Yousri, members of the Movement of Socialist Revolutionaries, of inciting subversion of state power, overthrow of the government and the seizure of public buildings and institutions of special importance, such as the People's Assembly and Shura Council and the Council of Ministers, and to the burning and destruction of those institutions, as well as incitement to cause chaos and unrest and spread panic among citizens.

Tajuddin’s complaints were supported with many photographs and video recordings confirming beyond any doubt those persons’ involvement in the afore-mentioned activities and validity of the charges laid against them.

The Public Prosecutor immediately ordered an investigation into the complaint, and referred it immediately to Counsellor Hisham Badawi, Fist Attorney General for State Security, taking into consideration the seriousness of the statement in the complaint.

It should be noted that Jamal Tajuddin, in statements made to IkhwanWeb, said that the MB does not have any responsibility whatsoever of my formal complaint against three members of the Revolutionary Socialist Movement, stressing that this his own personal stance on the matter.
