Secretary General for the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), Dr. Saad Katatny, called on the military council (SCAF) to announce a date for the handing over of power to a civilian elected authority and to propose a date for the presidential elections.

Based on SCAF's vow to protect the revolution and the people's acknowledging it as only a temporary governing authority, Katatny stated that SCAF must keep its promise to hand over power to civilians. This will only be attainable once a timeline is scheduled and dates set as soon as possible for the drafting of the constitution and the presidential elections following the parliamentary elections scheduled for late November.
