Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie visited the world famous Luxor Temples on Wednesday with a group of MB leaders in a bid to encourage tourism and emphasize the importance of ancient Egyptian heritage.

During his visit, Badie expressed his pride at the monuments in Luxor describing them as belonging not only to the Egyptians but to the whole world. “The temples and monuments are a world heritage and nobody has the right to destroy such history,” he said.

Commenting that the temples are a mixture of Pharaohnic, Coptic and Muslim art, Badie stated that “This is a true example of Egypt’s culture bringing out the country’s best throughout the periods”.

Badie’s trip began with a visit to the Sidi Abo Alhagag Mosque regarded as an Islamic heritage which witnessed protests during the historic January 25 Revolution. He praised the Egyptians who stood united during the revolution and called on them to continue in solidarity and remain strong until all their demands are met.

The delegation welcoming Badie to the city included the deputy-director of MB administrative office in Qina, Ammar Hassan Hanafy, who is also Luxor's senior antique inspector, Mohamed Mousa (MB director in Luxor), and Ramadan Abdul Hameed (Freedom and Justice Party secretary in the city.)
