Potential presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei stated on Wednesday that a decision to cancel TV interview with famous preacher Amr Khaled was retracted, and the show will air as scheduled on Thursday.

According to the former IAEA chief and noble Peace Prize Laureate the surprise decision to cancel the show triggered threats of protests outside the building until he was allowed to appear on state TV.

Head of the state TV, Nehal Kamal, had requested commitment by host Amr Khaled for equal airtime on his show for the other presedential candidates before Dr. ElBaradei is allowed on national TV, which led to rumors  that the state owned TV is still following old regime policy of banning Dr. ElBaradei from state- run media outlets.

ElBaradei stated that he was appreciative to the youths who relayed their resentment to the earlier decision to ban him from appearing on TV by setting up an event on Facebook. He added that following the revolution freedom of expression should be guaranteed for everyone.
