Chairman for the Muslim Brotherhood Dr. Mohamed Badie addressed crowds in the Mansoura stadium urging them to protect the revolution that toppled Hosni Mubarak from those who might try to pervert it for their own gain.

During his speech Badie said the revolution had started to bear fruit and that Egyptians should not allow the chance for opportunists to kidnap it and its accomplishments.

Referring to current incidents in Imbaba where attempts were made to promote sectarian strife and sedition, Badie reminded the people of the spirit of patriotism present during the demonstrations in Tahrir square the epicentre of the revolution where men women and children united disregarding ideological and religious differences.

Badie stressed that since Mubarak's overthrow, the country has been gripped by insecurity and sectarian unrest, amid a "counter-revolution" by remnants of the old regime aimed at sowing chaos and that the Egyptians should not be drawn into it.

He added that all energy should be channelled and redirected for the wellbeing of the country and each and every individual had a significant role in the advancement of Egypt reminding the people that it was they who helped launch the revolt which succeeded in toppling a corrupt leader and his aides.
