Egypt’s interim Prime Minister Essam Sharaf participated with demonstrators who gathered in Nasr City to express their gratitude to the military following Friday prayers.

Sharaf stated that he participated in the demonstration labelled “Friday of Gratitude” to express the importance of the role of the armed forces during Egypt’s January 25 Revolution.

Sharaf posted on his Twitter account the popular revolution slogan the army and the people are one hand.
A speech by Counsellor Zakaria Abdel Aziz was delivered thanking the armed forces and calling on labourers who continue protesting to assign a representative to discuss their demands with the ruling military council.

Another speech by General Saeed Abbas also addressed the Egyptian people who helped the army in October 1973.
