The Muslim Brotherhood welcomes the Supreme Administrative Court's decision to dismantle the former ruling National Democratic Party (NDP), handing its liquidated assets and properties over to the government.

Saad al-Husseini, member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Executive Bureau, has emphasized that the former NDP is of no use to this country. “I support the party’s dissolution," he said, adding that it was rife with nepotism and corruption.

The decision was based upon achieving public interest after the NDP prevented other parties from being formed and seized all the state headquarters for its own interest.

In an exclusive statement to "Ikhwanweb", al-Husseini maintained that if there was a free and fair election, Mubarak's corrupt party might get 10 percent of the votes, stressing that the dissolution of his party has been a key demand of the protesters after the revolution.

The party of the toppled unjust tyrant, who ruled Egypt for 30 years, has been prohibited because its members were debunked as traitors to Egypt and no longer exists in the real sense.

In fact, the party’s dissolution is an important step towards Egypt having a multi-party system.

Asked about the party's change of name into the New National Party and choosing new leaders, al-Husseini said the Egyptian people are aware and able to distinguish between what is corrupt and what is beneficial to them.

As for conducting elections under the influence of personalities who have money from NDP members by which they can win seats, al-Hosseini stressed it will be based on the choice of the people through the ballot box.
