Tahrir Square witnessed clashes on Tuesday and Wednesday as angry groups clashed with sit-in protesters in an attempt to drive them from the square.

According to witnesses, hundreds of people stormed the demonstrators armed with knives and stones. Recorded reports confirm twelve were injured, and two are in a critical condition. Hundreds had attacked protesters in the square and eyewitnesses stress that Molotov cocktails were thrown in the direction of the protesters.

Tahrir’s remaining protestors continue to call for their demands including the trial of the former deposed Mubarak, the immediate abolishment of the State Emergency Law, the release of all people detained by the military, and the guaranteed dissolution of the notorious State Security.
