The National Democratic Party (NDP) will begin preparing its platform for the presidential candidate after the seventh annual conference slated for December 25-26.

In an exclusive remarks for the "Seventh Day", NDP's high level sources have revealed that the Secretary General of the NDP Policies Secretariat, Gamal Mubarak, will, on January 1st, begin developing key points of the NDP's electoral campaign program, in association with the NDP Political Bureau led by the party's current secretary general, Safwat El-Sherif; Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mufid Shehab; NDP Assistant Secretary General for organization, membership, finance and administration affairs, Zakaria Azmi; Secretary for Organizational Affairs, Ahmed Ezz; and the party's Information Secretary, Ali Eddin Hilal.

"The NDP's Policy Secretariat will hold intensive meetings with the government and its ministers to discuss these themes, and the party will take the advice of the party’s 6000 “basic unit leaders” (i.e., precinct bosses) nationwide, as they are the closest to the citizens and are able to identify their needs in the coming period," the paper explained.

The NDP initiated the training of approximately 1.2 million young men from the party on how to manage the campaign for the presidency, through intensive training courses within the party in cooperation with the NDP's Youth, Information, Training and Political Education Secretariats.

The party's decision-making circles are currently witnessing a meeting between members of the NDP's policies secretariat and a number of government ministers for the NDP's seventh annual conference slated for December 25. It will include primarily social and economic draft laws such as extending health insurance to cover all citizens and an amendment of the bidding procedures law, public enterprise sector law, state land management, civil service law and details of the NDP's promises for its members under the dome of the 2010 Parliament on economic growth and social justice.
