Iraq: Islamic Party Sets Conditions to Join any New Political Bloc

Al Sameraie: Islamic Party Sets Conditions to Join any New Political Bloc

Mr. Iyad Al Sameraie, the Iraqi member of parliament for Iraqi Accordance Front and Under-Secretary-General of the Iraqi Islamic Party said that: “the Iraqi Islamic Party tabled a package of conditions as a basis for joining any new political bloc”.
He added that this package is topped by forming a 10-thousand balanced and joint emergency force in Baghdad to control over security in Baghdad, given that the biggest security mess is in the capital, pointing out that this force must take action in case any sect that doesn’t belong to its sect is exposed to any aggression.

Al Sameraie added that the other conditions include achieving balance in most security chechpoints dotted around Baghdad, because most aggressions happen during curfews; this means that these checkpoints give a blind eye and cover those lawbreakers”.

“We want a clear and frank declaration from the government concerning the issue of dismantling the militias, something stated in the constitution” Al Sameraie said, highlighting ” the importance of providing protection for citizens inside hospitals and clinics which the citizen currently fears to approach though they are supposed to care for the lives and health of people”.

Al Sameraie pointed out that the conditions included also releasing 5000 innocent detained persons who received judicial rulings aquitting them but prison supervisors refuse to carry out these rulings, given that the previous ministerial agreement stated that 15000 detainees should be released every month, and nothing happened of this so far.
