GAZA, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) mounting armored vehicles raided Palestinian land east of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday, security sources reported.

They added that IOF troops in eight armored vehicles and escorting bulldozers leveled land in Nahda suburb in Rafah and fired at nearby homes.

PIC reporter said that a big explosion targeted one of the armored vehicles and that the blast was followed by intensive firing on the part of the IOF troops.

He added that Israeli warplanes were seen over the area as the soldiers shot at nearby residential quarters.

In northern Gaza a Palestinian worker was hit by an IOF bullet in his foot while collecting gravel near the Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing on Wednesday morning.

Adham Abu Salmiya, the coordinator of medical services, said in a statement to the PIC that a 28-year-old citizen was hit and hospitalized.

He added that the casualty is the 66th since the start of 2009.
