Hamas Spokesman: Covert Powers Try to Strain Arenas, Violate Last Truce Deal

The Palestinian arena is witnessing an increasing negative escalation between Hamas and Fatah Movements claiming a number of martyrs and injured persons; therefore, Ikhwanweb had this interview with the spokesman of Hamas movement, Dr. Ismail Radwan:

Ikhwanweb: How you evaluate the security situation in the arena in the wake of the last security agreement? and what is the actual reality of the Egyptian role?

Radwan: The current tensions in the Palestinian arena haven’t emerged only nowadays or only during the era of the current government; they are one of the pressure cards against the government, including the pressure card of the salaries, forming a unity government, and it reached its peak after the failed assassination on Prime Minister, Ismail Haniya, in Rafah Crossing and the repeated aggressions against leadership headquarters, ministries and the Legislative Assembly, to be capped with the latest clashes between the security services themselves, leading to the intervention of several authorities including the Egyptian security delegation that had previously played an important role in making the Palestinian close ranks. We managed to end these incidents and reached a security agreement with the presence of all leaders of the security services, according to which the security forces that aren’t related with the internal security have been pulled out, while the security forces concerned with the internal security have been kept, including the police, the Executive Force and the preventive security, according to a security plan and a distribution that keeps order and security.

Ikhwanweb: So, how do you explain the latest violations that claimed a number of innocent victims, after sealing the agreement?

Radwan: After the sealed truce agreement, there was a joint operations chamber that includes all security services, including the Executive Force, but unfortunately there were flagrant and shameful violations from security forces 17 affiliated to the presidential Institution. There were many sides who try to strain the Palestinian arena, and try to involve some individuals from families to break the truce agreement, given that there is no problem between the families and the security services; however, the latest problem with a family resulted from pushing some of its individuals who work according to special instructions in order to involve these families in a confrontation with the security services and the factions; these incidents were solved as well; we can say now that the security situations are moving smoothly.

Ikhwanweb: In every domestic problem, the fingers of accusation are directed to the Executive Force and blaming it for the responsibility of what is taking place?, what is your comment on this?

Radwan: The Executive Force is a security force; it is clear that involving it in every problem aims at distorting its image, which is rejected; there is a clear confusion in the latest problem ( Daghamsh family ) that took place over assassinating three resistance elements, and there were clashes that didn’t include the Executive Force, given that Hamas issued a statement in which it confirmed that it will punish and take legal actions against those who committed the crime; consequently, it is now up to the official investigation committees or any committee that the family approves.

Ikhwanweb: It is noticeable that the latest clashes and incidents erupted between the Interior Ministry forces and the presidential security forces, have you reached any settlement in this regard?

Radwan: It was solved according to the truce agreement under the sponsorship of the Egyptian delegation; we said from the beginning that the missions of these forces aren’t in the streets; they are military forces that only guard the president and presidential facilities; sending them to the streets and attempting to make them replace the security and police forces which are entrusted with the internal security, led to such a state of tension; so we agreed that the presidential forces return to their places.

Ikhwanweb: The items of the latest agreement included pulling out gunmen; what about the wide-scale deployment of the presidential security forces and establishing barriers near Al-Muntada in Gaza and presidential headquarters?, are there any fears from more confrontations?

Radwan: There are contacts with the leaders of these forces to end all these show-offs related to the presidency. We fully understand the mission of these forces, but they shouldn’t appear in such a provocative way as if tensions still continue. I hope that what happened in the last period should be temporary; the Palestinian arena can’t endure this state of tension; the only one benefiting from this is the Zionist enemy; the security services should focus on protecting the homeland and the safety of people.

Equipping Presidential Forces with Weapons

Ikhwanweb: The Zionist entity approved, during Olmert-Abbas meeting, that “Badr Forces” can enter Gaza Strip, do you fear such a confrontation?

Radwan: All Palestinians have the right to return to their homeland, but not according to a Zionist desire for creating internal balance; talking about Badr Forces in such a way makes the people hate it even before they come; if they came to Palestine, these forces should be for protecting the Palestinian people; God willing, the tables were turned against the plotter, and these forces will be a thorn at the back of Olmert and the occupation; as for us, we will deal with these forces as we dealt with the Palestinian security forces, that came from all Arab countries.
