Oscar winning producer Osborne produces film about Islam to bridge gaps

The Lord of the Rings” and “The Matrix” producer Barrie Osborne is set to produce what he describes as an epic  film  about the true meaning of Islam in an attempt to ‘bridge the culture gap’

The Oscar-winning American film-maker is set to embark on his most daring mission producing a biopic of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The film which is budgeted at $150 million is slated to begin in 2011 according to the Qatari media company Alnoor Holdings featuring English speaking Muslim actors. Renowned and trusted muslim scholar Dr. Yusuf Qaradawi is expected to overlook the religious aspect of the production.

The director of the company Ahmed Abd Allah explained that the film will shed light on the Prophet’s life dating before his birth to his death, highlighting the humanity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).


In a related issue producer Oscar Zoghbi publicized intentions to produce a movie titled The Messenger of Peace a remake of The Message movie which caused controversy in 1976 sparking a fatal siege by protesters in Washington DC.
