The Misdemeanor Appeal Court in Alexandria upheld a court decision to release Muslim Brotherhood leader   Ali Abdel-Fattah and 5 of the Muslim Brotherhood after they were arrested from their homes last week. The political detainees are expected to be transferred to police headquarters in preparation for their release in the upcoming hours

Security services arrested the MB members who were actively participating and promoting the call for 7 demands for reform initiated by the group's chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie. The group was arrested after they were caught collecting signatures out in the streets as a progressive step after the petition had been extremely successful in securing close to half a million signatures at the time

In a related issue an appeal had been filed by activists who engaged in a peaceful protest raising banners while they were in their cars advocating the campaign in support of the demands for constitutional reform and political amendments. The group alleged that Officer Hesham Khatib was responsible for violating their constitutional rights and freedom of speech as he abused the group and supervised over their harassments and beatings as they tried to thwart the peaceful rally confiscating cameras laptops and personal mobiles. The activists however remained adamant and continued in their rally despite the security apparatus' efforts
