The sources added that “Egyptian authorities continue to prevent the Jordanian delegation from entering the [Gaza] Strip, despite fulfilling all required steps by the Egyptian authorities, including official correspondence and coordination", in reference to the Egyptian authorities’ requirement of approval from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which upon furnishing a letter from the Jordanian Embassy, Cairo demanded approval from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the act which the delegates said was an attempt at prolonging their stay at the border.

In the same context, the Islamic Action Front Party condemned Egyptian authorities for not allowing the delegation to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.

A statement issued by the party appealed to the Egyptian government to open up the Egyptian-Palestinian Rafah crossing and "to provide all facilities to all sincere Arabs and free people of the world to put an end to the suffering of [their] brothers in Gaza."

The party denounced the government’s “unfortunate” position in not granting permission to the Jordanian delegation, at a time when the European Union is calling for an end to the siege on the Gaza Strip, while "the Zionist enemy, to cover up the crime of the blockade, claims providing relief facilities to the Gaza Strip".
