Opposition blocs object to Shura election rigging
The protestors who assembled in front of the Parliament building alleged that the Shura elections were rigged and announced the favouring of the NDP party.
Security services intervened preventing demonstrators from marching to the Shura Council building as initially planned. Forces prevented MB MP Ali Laban and Mohamed Abdul Quddus from thejournalists press syndicate board from joining the protests as they cordoned streets leading to the Parliament building.
The Muslim Brotherhood bloc accused the authorities of attempting to dominate control over parliament and called on opposition blocs to refuse the results.
