El Erian: MB rejects Western pressure for voting transparency

In a statement to “Bar-Masr,” El-Erian emphasized that the movement relies on the Egyptian masses in their quest to achieve the desired political reform. Al-Arian pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood is not waiting for support from any party including the EU and the  US . In fact the authorities are anxious due to the masses gathered around the movement’s candidates.

Al-Arian explained that the security harassments against the MB Shura candidates are conducted since it is the first time the group has strongly fielded this number of candidates.

According to El-Erian “One of the main objectives of the Brotherhood members in participating in the 2010 Shura Council election was to expose the regime’s practices in front of the public opinion and the entire world,”
