Lieberman: USA demand on halting building in OJ rejected
Lieberman: USA demand on halting building in OJ rejected
Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman has described the American demand to halt construction work in occupied Jerusalem as "unreasonable".

The Israeli radio quoted Lieberman as saying that he was confident Washington would respond to efforts to change its stance.

He said that rejection of this American position should be maintained, adding that the American administration's pressure on Israel would only bring about "contrary results to what Washington hopes".

For his part, minister without portfolio Benny Begin said that the American administration's attempt to impose a settlement on the Palestinian and Israeli parties was an "absurd idea".
