Egypt: Detained MB Dr Elewa faces more health complications

Tora Prison hospital has referred Dr Mohamed Saad Elewa who was arrested early February to Manial Hospital due to complications to his health owing to inappropriate medical equipment in the prison’s hospital.

State security had transferred Elewa to the prison’s hospital which lacked the necessary care needed after he suffered a stroke. The detainee has had to depend on his pacemaker which he carries with him even to hearings.

Dr. Elewa is detained in the State Security case No. 202 of 2010 along with a group of 28 members and leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood including Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat, Deputy chairman and four other members of the MB Executive Bureau.
