Azhar's scholars call for Tayeb's resignation from NDP
Senior Azhar scholars called on Grand Imam Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb to resign from the NDP Policies Committee.

 The scholars asserted that his resignation is imperative and his continued membership in the NDP committee would only deter his decision making.

 Dr. Nasr Farid Wasel, former top cleric and member of the Islamic Research Academy, stated to "Ikhwanweb" that the new post of Dr Tayeb was a sensitive and unique position which entails no affiliation with any organization governmental or non-governmental.

Wasel added  that Tayeb's continued association with any party would only negatively  affect his standing point and would lead to lack of credibility regarding any decisions he made; hence the significance of the call for his resignation.
