Dr. Fathi Serour the Egyptian House Speaker acknowledged that the  Sharia is the solution!!!

As a bit of a surprise, Dr. Fathi Serour the Egyptian House Speaker and a top leader in the National Democratic Party (NDP) acknowledged that the Islamic Sharia is the solution.

Dr. Sorour was speaking, during a hearing session held by the legislative committee last Wednesday, and he said that " The slogan of ’Islam is the solution’ is a religious slogan that shouldn’t be used in the elections according to the new constitutional amendments. A Muslim Brotherhood (MB) parliamentary bloc member responded, saying:" But the constitution itself states that the Islamic Sharia is the main source for legislation"; then Dr. Sorour said that " Yes, we can use the slogan of " Sharia is the solution."

For his part, Eng. Saad Al Husseini, a member of the MB parliamentary Bloc said that Dr. Fathi Serour’s statements are reflecting a status quo and are giving also several indications, the most prominent of which is that the proposed constitutional amendments are contradictory and are conflicting with many articles in the Egyptian constitution; they are also contradicting with the history of the Egyptian people and their deep-rooted belief in Islam .

Al Husseini pointed out that the proposed constitutional amendments are only a new phase in the ongoing confrontation against the spread of the Islamic movement that achieved several successes whether in the political street, professional unions or in the parliamentary elections .

The MB parliamentarian confirmed that the statement of Dr. Fathi Serour reflects something deep-rooted among the Egyptian people: that the Egyptians are religious by nature and that any attempt to eliminate the religious commitment is doomed to fail.

Al Husseini pointed out that despite the Egyptian regime’s various oppressive methods against the Muslim Brotherhood, "we adopt an important fact, that tyrannical regimes will come to end one day, and we, the Muslim Brotherhood, will continue working to end the current autocratic policies in Egypt through all peaceful means; we will never adopt violence which we strongly reject as a method and means.
