The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) issued a military order on Monday banning entry of Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, from entering Jerusalem for six months unless he was summoned for interrogation or any other legal procedure.

Sheikh Salah in a press release said that he would retain his "eternal right to enter Jerusalem at any time".

He said that all evidence proves that the year 2010 would be crucial for the current and future status of occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.

The IOA military order came only hours before expiry of a previous order which barred the entry of Sheikh Salah into Jerusalem for three weeks.

For his part, the spokesman of the Islamic Movement Zahi Nujaidat, a lawyer, said in a press statement that the IOA order is not legitimate because the IOA presence in occupied Jerusalem is not legitimate.

He added that Sheikh Salah is entitled to visit Jerusalem whenever he wishes, describing the IOA decision as "repressive".
