Mokhtar : Egypt is required to protect its borders from Israeli attacks

MP Essam Mokhtar, member of the MB Parliamentary bloc and member of the Defense and National Security Committee in the Parliament, considered the statement made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs that securing the borders of Egypt by any means, above the ground or underneath, as a “national affair” and one of the state’s secrets and should not bypass its expected role in the region towards Palestinian people.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Abul Gheit, stated that procedures taken to maintain Egypt’s national security, whether it included construction, engineering, or sensory equipments are all concerned with the national security, stressing that its confidentiality is the state’s responsibilities.

Mokhtar pointed out in his statement to parliament.com that without doubt Egypt’s borders must be secured and untouched; however Egypt has an Arab and Islamic obligation to support Palestine and not blockade it. He strongly rejected any violation to Egypt’s security calling on authorities to firmly deal with any violators stressing that Egypt had failed to keep borders safe where a significant number of its sons’ lives were lost without any action being taken.
