Cairo: Engineer’s question the squandering of the impounded Engineer’s Syndicate’s money.

Engineer’s in Cairo filed reports to the Prosecutor general objecting to the millions of pounds wasted as a result of the sequestration imposed on the Engineer’s syndicate which has lasted for more than 15 years.

Representatives of the Engineer’s including Eng. Omar Abdullah a leading member of the group “Engineers against sequestratation”  called for a general union for professional syndicates to be formed as a step towards freeing syndicates from government control he called on his colleagues  to continue their struggle and not  be fooled by government promises which are nothing but “political maneuvers”. The group accused the custodians of wasting syndicate money and of responsibility for the deteriorating services offered to syndicate members. “We have the right to know what happens to our budget but have been kept in the dark for many years”.

Files appealed include a request on investigating the significant amounts of ill-spent money on unsuccessful projects.  Projects which have been put on hold include the irresponsible purchasing of housing blocks and allotments and the unsuccessful marketing of these purchases and ineffective management in funding which has resulted in the squandering of devastating amounts of money.
