Hatem Abdul Qader, the minister of Jerusalem affairs in the unconstitutional government of Salam Fayyad in Ramallah, tendered his resignation on Tuesday.

He said in a press statement that he was forced to take the step after the government showed it was not living up to commitments to Jerusalem.

Abdul Qader said that the finance ministry was not paying what enables the Palestinian Jerusalemites to remain steadfast on their lands.

A number of lawyers who are defending Palestinian cases in Israeli courts were not paid by the ministry, which made those lawyers withdraw their services, he explained.

There are daily demolition or confiscation orders against those Jerusalemites and the only solution is to resort to the courts, Abdul Qader elaborated.
