A delegation of the Organization of Islamic Conference is scheduled to arrive to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on Wednesday, the Palestinian interior ministry said.

The Jeddah-based organization said in a statement on Monday that the delegation consists of five members headed by Fuad Al-Mazma"ai, the director of Humanitarian Affairs Department.

The delegation is expected to inaugurate the Eye Hospital, which was wholly financed by the OIC that will also shoulder its operational costs.

The delegation will evaluate the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as the OIC aims at providing support for humanitarian projects.

It is also expected that the visiting delegates will meet officials and non governmental organizations in the Gaza Strip. They will visit the areas, which were destroyed during the recent Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
